TMJ Dysfunction
TMJ dysfunction is when your jaw hurts and the muscles around it are sore. This condition is mostly brought on by stress. But it can also be from an injury, headaches or dental treatments. Chiropractic treatment of this condition is adjusting the neck and jaw. The nerves in the neck are related to the ones that influence the jaw. The muscles around the jaw and neck can become tight from grinding or clenching your teeth. The chiropractor will make sure that your jaw and neck are aligned and may advise you to have a mouth guard at night.
